What would you do if you had to live forever? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster longs for an adventurous life beyond her white picket fence, but it is only when she meets the Tuck family that her life takes an unexpected turn. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the infinite youth of the Tuck family, she has to fight to protect its secret from those who would do anything to have a chance to live forever. In the middle of this adventure, she is faced with an extraordinary decision: return to her old life or the eternal journey with the Tucks.

There will be limited available times for walk-ins, so make sure to arrive first thing on your desired day.
UPDATE: As of January 21, all audition time slots have been filled. You can either:
Keep checking back to see if any spots have opened up,
Show up as a walk-in on the day of auditions and wait for a gap in the schedule, or
Send a video audition (for any role) & headshot by Monday, March 9. For best results, upload your video to YouTube and send us the unlisted (private) link. We’ll reply and send you an audition form to fill out. Email: maryt@saltandlighttheatre.org
WHO CAN AUDITION?
Actors ages 10 & up. Actresses ages 11-19 may audition for the role of Winnie Foster.
Auditioning does not guarantee casting, and there are a very limited number of roles available for ensemble. Due to the limited cast size, not everyone auditioning will be able to be cast for this particular show. Any Salt & Light Theatre leadership team members wishing to be considered for a role must audition, but are not guaranteed a role in the show. All actors are non-paid.
DO YOU HAVE TO ATTEND A CHURCH?
No, anyone can audition, whether or not they attend a church.
WHERE ARE AUDITIONS?
The Narrow Way Church
175 Bossert Blvd., West Milton, PA 17886
(Look for The Narrow Way Church entrance near the exit of the C&N Bank/formerly Susquehanna Community Bank.)
Actors will enter through the office area to fill out paperwork and wait for their individual audition (follow the signs for directions to the entrance). Auditions will be held privately in a classroom. Parents are welcome to attend their child’s audition in the designated seating area.
Remember to schedule your audition (above)!
Actors auditioning for speaking roles & solos should prepare a short monologue (2-3 minutes) from a published theatrical work that you find either online or from some other source (monologues don’t have to be from a musical). We want to see you act with emotion—not just recite something like the Gettysburg Address or tell a story. If you’re auditioning for an ensemble (chorus) role only, you do not need to prepare a monologue.
Prepare a Broadway song of your choice that shows your vocal range and fits the style the character would sing in the show using a mobile device for your track. Actors using live accompaniment should pre-record the track and have it available on their mobile device to use. You may want to bring a Bluetooth speaker with you, if you have one. Audition songs should not be a cappella—we want to hear your intonation and rhythm with a track. (The average song length is 3-4 minutes, but you may not need to sing the entire song.)
Actors auditioning for the roles of Winnie Foster (ages 11-19), Jesse Tuck, The Man in the Yellow Suit, and Ensemble (Chorus) will need to prepare and perform the specific songs from “Tuck Everlasting The Musical” with these linked tracks listed below:Winnie Foster: “Good Girl Winnie Foster” AND “Top of the World” (The second song is to hear your harmonizing abilities. Please prepare the second song starting at 1:30 to the end.) ”Good Girl, Winnie Foster” & “Top of the World”
Jesse Tuck: “Top of the World”
The Man in the Yellow Suit: “Everything’s Golden”
Ensemble (Chorus) only: “Join the Parade”
Both song and monologue should be memorized. The total length of an audition should not exceed 8 minutes. Monologues and songs do not have to be from Tuck Everlasting, but should show a range of emotions and skills (you do not need to provide copies of your monologue or song).
Schedule your audition above.
Bring printed copies of your current clearances with you to your audition. Anyone cast in the show will be working with children, so cast & crew ages 18+ will need to submit volunteer background checks. They are free (except FBI Fingerprint, but is only required unless you have lived outside of PA in the last 10 years). These clearances are online and easy to do.
Please arrive 30 minutes early on your audition date to fill out the paperwork and have your photo taken.
Actors wishing to be considered for ENSEMBLE (chorus), will need to prepare the Tuck Everlasting song: “Join the Parade”, and will not need to memorize a monologue. Salt & Light Theatre will provide the track at your audition.
Unless there are physical limitations for an ensemble member, dancing is part of the show. The ensemble is in many of the musical numbers and transitions throughout the show. Actors auditioning for a speaking/solo role or ensemble do not need to include dance in their audition, but will need to schedule an in-person audition.
CAN’T MAKE IT IN PERSON TO AUDITIONS?
If you wish to be considered for an ENSEMBLE (chorus) role and cannot be present for an in-person audition due to extenuating circumstances (out of town, etc.) on these dates, please email your headshot AND video audition of your song by Monday, March 9. For best results, upload your video to YouTube and send us the unlisted (private) link. We’ll reply and send you an audition form to fill out. Email: maryt@saltandlighttheatre.org
Actors wishing to be cast solely as a dancer can submit a video of a choreographed dance routine. No monologue or song will be required for dance-only auditions. (Dancers wishing to also be cast as a speaking/solo role or in the ensemble/chorus will need to complete an in-person audition.) Please email your headshot AND video audition of your dance routine by Monday, March 9. For best results, upload your video to YouTube and send us the unlisted (private) link. We’ll reply and send you an audition form to fill out. Email: maryt@saltandlighttheatre.org

Act, don’t just read. We’re looking for actors—so make an impression with your acting, not simply delivering lines.
Take the time you need to prepare. Learn a bit about the show you’re auditioning for, get to know the character you’re looking to portray, and tailor your audition to your desired role.
Take a deep breath and enjoy the experience! Slow down. Enunciate every word. If you make a mistake, it’s okay, everyone does! Just battle through it and push forward.
Be humble. No one is guaranteed a spot in a show. Each part has someone just right for the role—that may be you, but maybe not. If you’re serious about wanting a role, you need to give it your best. Every time.
If you don’t get the role you wanted, shake it off as a learning experience and audition for the next show.
